The following article by Tim Wise is posted at the Southern Poverty Law Center's "Tolerance" web project. We reproduce it here in full, with our critique of it. We invite Mr. Wise to reply to our comments here: a reasoned dialogue about this important issue. Fight Hate and Promote Tolerance. Tolerance.org TOLERANCE IN THE NEWS. We have the sense that Mr. Wise includes all his critics in the same net, as "racist" bigots because they disagree with him. We emailed Wise recently and expressed not "contempt" for his thoughts, but disagreement, and sought a discussion/dialogue/debate about the subject. We herein formally begin this exchange (which we suspect Mr. Wise will ignore). To condemn racism, be it of the individual or institutional variety, is to encourage the wrath of bigots. True, but we expressly condemn JEWISH racism (which is always hidden, especially by guys like Mr. Wise), best exemplified in international Jewish support for racist Israel. And JEWISH bigots come out of the woodwork with their "wrath." Including, it appears, our dear Tim Wise. To these folks, offering my email address is nothing less than an invitation for them to regale me with age-old racist rants about blacks, and to extol the virtues of so-called white culture and white "genetic purity." This does not represent what WE emailed to Mr. Wise. Although his response to us was to lump us mindlessly into this preconceived category. Reasoned people are beginning to question American Judeocentric hegemony. Jewish Tribal Review does not endorse "racist rants about blacks." On the contrary. We feature research about how the Jewish Lobby has bent the disempowered Black [despite institutionalized grammatical protocol, we tend to capitalize "Blacks," "Whites," and other groups on equal footing with the capitalized term "Jews"] community to its ethnocentric will. Even more telling are the things they say after the paragraphs about the greater cranial capacity of Caucasians as compared to Africans or other absurdities. Issues of Black-White intelligence are irrelevant to anything the Jewish Tribal Review is interested in. Our web site focuses on Jewish history, Jewish identity, Jewish power, and Jewish influence in social, political, and economic realms. We do, however, devote a chapter at Jewish
Tribal Review to the very JEWISH version of Mr. Wise's complaint: traditional
Jewish celebration of, and rationale for, its assumed innately intellectual
superiority over non-Jews. Here's a sample of such research: We've got another chapter, expressly about Jewish racism. One of the things that is so very objectionable about Mr. Wise's ideological portrayals is the way he depicts the world in simplified polars of black and white (please pardon the pun) with no shades of grey between. In other words, he conveniently ignores some very important Jewish contributions to the racial "cranial capacity" discussions (stemming from Jewry's racist "Chosen People" myth generally?) he despises and leaves the impression that all Jews are categorical innocents to -- like Blacks -- a categorical wall of "White" bigotry (its strand in Jewish lore is configured as "antisemitism."). Wise's position goes like this: Generic White "racism" is Evil and must be destroyed (other ethnic racism -- including Jews' -- is ignored) and, ho! Surprise! Endemic Jewish racism is not part of Wise's map and Jews are conveniently afforded Absolute Victim space with Blacks as the good guy team against the omnipresent scourge of "White" racism. From our chapter about JEWISH racism, particularly Jewish activists in the realm of turn-of-the-century racial scientism: "Race," notes Michael Marrus, "... provides Jews with the means to express their sense of a distinct Jewish identity, a sense which was difficult to achieve in other terms, and which they themselves were not always ready to admit." [MARRUS, p. 10] "The Jewish race," wrote, Ben Mosche, a contributor to an 1893 Jewish Yearbook in France, "is not an ordinary race, let us admit it. It is endowed with a certain number of diverse characteristics ... which make it the most noticed and most envied of human families." [MARRUS, p. 18] Hannah Arendt noted the opinion of Benjamin Disraeli, the Jewish prime minister of Great Britain in the late 19th century, about his racial heritage: "[Disraeli] was ready to assert that the Semitic principle 'represented all that is spiritual in our nature,' that the vicissitudes of history find their main solution -- all in race,' which is 'the key to history' regardless of 'language and religion,' for 'there is only one thing that makes a race and that is blood' and that there is only one aristocracy, the aristocracy of nature 'which consists of 'an unmixed race of a first-rate organization.'" [ARENDT, p. 73] One of the most influential thinkers in the theory of a criminal typology in physical appearance was an Italian Jew, Cesare Lombroso (1836-1909). The founder of the "science of criminal law," Lombroso argued that "degenerate criminality" was expressed in physical traits (i.e., criminals looked like criminals). For example, in Lombroso's view, the same kind of ears were to be found in "criminals, savages, and apes." [MOSSE, G., 1978, p. 83-84] Lombroso wrote that criminals tend to be irrecoverably "born for evil;" their "atavism shows us the inefficacy of punishment for born criminals" and society should "eliminate them completely, even by death." He also labeled entire groups of handicapped people as criminals and that "almost every 'born criminal' suffers from epilepsy to some degree." Gypsies as a group were identified by Lombroso as inherently criminal: "They have the improvidence of the savage and that of the criminal as well." "The Nazi killers," says Henry Friedlander, "used the language of Lombroso to target the same victim groups, including Gypsies and the handicapped. Thus members of the judiciary considered the killing of convicted criminals if their 'physical shape no longer deserved to be called human.'" [FRIEDLANDER, p. 3] Another Jew, Max Nordeau (1849-1923), a friend of both Lombroso and right hand man for the Zionist leader Theodore Herzl, was the "real populizer of the concept of degeneration," defined by George Mosse as "those who stood against scientific methods and middle class morality." [MOSSE, p. 84-85] (Nordeau's volume, Degeneration, was dedicated to Lombroso. Jewish scholar Mosse argues that Lombroso and Nordeau were not racists, (?) "but their ideas became a staple of racist thought." [MOSSE, G., 1978, p. 86] Both men's works were appropriated by Nazi ideology and institutionalized against Jews. A turn-of-the-century Jewish doctor (and Zionist), Felix Theilhaber, published arguments that Jewish racial preservation was rooted in Jewish sexual law and ethics, limitations that maintained procreation within the expressly Jewish community: "the categorical imperative of Judaism." [EFRON, p. 147] In 1907, Eliot Auerbach, a German-Jewish doctor, argued that a Jewish racial purity orientation was rooted in Jewish law and that "in the course of their entire racial history it has been the Jews themselves and not other peoples who have promoted the strongest resistance to racial mixing." [EFRON, p. 131] "Auerbach's hypothesis," says John Efron, "built on the mystical premise that there existed a Jewish racial instinct whose effectiveness had ensured racial exclusiveness and therefore Jewish racial purity, was reminiscent of much of the German Volkisch literature being disseminated by nationalist (and other anti-Semitic) groups." [EFRON, p. 136] Auerbach even used buzzwords of warlike defiance. In the contest between German and Jewish nationalism, he said, "it will be will against will. And the will to live will be more powerful than the will to go under." [EFRON, p. 136] Also influenced by the racist ideas in the air at the time, in 1910 an Austrian Jewish doctor, Ignaz Zollschan, published a "sensational" volume arguing that "Judaity was based strictly upon biological criteria." Without the separatist possibilities of future Zionist nationalism, he argued, Jewry would either dissolve away or, in intermarriages with non-Jews, face "physical degeneration." [TRAVERSO, p. 30] The well-known German socialist, Karl Kautsky, attacked the growing interest of some Jews in racial theories, sarcastically wondering: "If this [racist] theory permits Christian-Teutonic patriots to declare themselves demi-gods, why should Zionist patriots not use it in order to stamp the people chosen by God as a chosen race of nature, a noble race that must be carefully guarded from any deterioration and contamination by foreign elements?" [EFRON, p. 124] In England, another Jewish "racial scientist," Joseph Jacobs, argued that "brain activity" could increase brain size and this had evidenced itself in Jews who had to live by their wits and intelligence amidst persecution by non-Jews during former centuries. Jacobs therefore argued that the cubic capacity of Jewish skulls were "larger than that of their neighbors." One of his studies, for instance, purported to prove that, on the average, Jews have 4% more "brain ability" than Bretons and 2% more than Scots. [EFRON, p. 86-88] That's when my Internet penpals turn to the real source of their hatred and offer up what they consider the ultimate refutation of anything I have previously written: Namely, I am a Jew (usually a "dirty" one at that, they being quick with the adjectives), and this explains my desire, as they put it to "destroy the white race." To this way of thinking (and I use "thinking" with caution here), Jews seek to destroy white unity via multiculturalism, immigration and affirmative action, so as to weaken the resistance of the white majority, thereby increasing our own power. Although Wise here somewhat exaggerates and oversimplifies the issue, the best argument in this regard is probably the work of California State University professor Kevin MacDonald. Jews have, indeed, been at the vanguard in championing cultural pluralism (the "father" of cultural pluralism was Jewish professor Horace Kallen, who was active in a Zionist "secret society" called the Parishim.) In other words, the destruction of the old American ideology of "melting pot" (the merging of diverse ethnicities) and increased "open door" immigration policies finds Jewish activism at its core. Why? Look around you. The society of multiculturalism has afforded Jewry the ability to establish the great nest of Zionism and enormous Jewish cultural and political ethnocentrism without raising -- until recently -- undue suspicion. Meanwhile, the premises of multiculturalism is absolutely anethema in the distinctly "Jewish homeland." Israel is a place where indigenous Palestinians -- nearly 20% of Israel's population -- are second-class (realistically, more like fourth or fifth tier) citizens. Israel is a racist, apartheid nation which American Jews overwhelmingly support. Although most Jews in America are from Europe, we do not qualify as white in this view, but rather as the ultimate social, cultural, and even genetic threat to white survival. On American shores, Jews have functioned as "white." And
they have been accepted as so. The Black civil rights movement has provided Jewish nationalism plenty
of hiding places over the years. Nathan Glazer even used it as an apologetic
for the standard charge against Jews of dual national loyalty. "Some Jews
had always been troubled by the problem of dual loyalty," he admits, and
then leaves the essence of this "troubling problem" hanging, merely excusing
it away by noting that Black civil rights militancy (and its "distinctive
group interests") "made it easier for Jews, too, directly to support the
interests of the state of Israel." [GLAZER, AMERICAN, p. 174] We've got tons more about "White" Jews exploiting the Black
community, in the name of solidarity against "White" racism.
We are, in other words, viewed as a biological pollutant in the body politic. Why your incessant focus on genetics? There may be people who believe this out there, but an investigation into Jewish social, economic, and political activism is a legitimate -- and moral -- endeavor. Why do you forbid it? Why do you toxify any investigation into those who wield so much political power AND their nakedly ethnocentric activism as implicitly "racist?" For years I have been told to ignore this stuff; to not give people like this credibility by responding. "Why encourage them?" some would ask. "Nothing you say can change the minds of people this deranged." The reason Jewish apologists resist responding to critical attack is that they usually cannot win their arguments, their moral and factual weakness would be laid bare, and the readership that endorses criticism of Jewish/Zionist political power would expand. But while I believe the last part of the preceding paragraph to be true, I no longer accept the first. Even the most absurd statements can become widely accepted if they go unrefuted. The belief that the Holocaust of European Jewry never happened, for example, which would have been considered prima facie evidence of cerebral damage just a few decades ago, is now widespread throughout parts of Europe. Jewish Tribal Review doesn't care to dispute what the Jewish community has codified (in its pseudo-religious way) as the "Holocaust." But, in free societies, NOTHING is beyond criticism. And thanks to Holocaust critics like Norman Finkelstein, more and more people are investigating some of the legendary and/or grossly propagandistic aspects of the European Jewry's experience in World War II (there was a World War over there, remember that? Other people got killed too, by the millions.) Likewise, beliefs that Jews control the media and U.S. economy are increasingly heard on the Internet and elsewhere. So let us now dispense with the nonsense about Jewish power. The idea that we run everything as evidenced by our "overrepresentation" in media and finance is nothing short of insane, even based on the "evidence" for such a claim marshaled by those who believe it. Jews running "everything" is your intentional exaggeration. "Everything" takes in a lot of ground, doesn't it? You dismiss as ridiculous an entire mode of criticism by virtue of your ridiculous representation of it. But, just for starters, merely about Jewish power in the mass media alone, try this massive chapter of research and documentation. Debunking internet idiocy We're not in the habit of defending other web sites. That's their own jobs. Nor do we understand hoozajew's statistical strategy involved in scanning possible Jewish names. But we know something about Jewish influence in the mass media, Mr. Wise's subject here. Putting aside the absurdity of trying to determine religious or ethnic heritage solely from a list of names, Mr. Wise dissimulates. Tallying Jews by surname (in phonebooks!) is considered a legitimate endeavor in the Jewish community. From our research files: While it is considered an anti-Semitic act for non-Jews to systematically document who around them is Jewish, in the Jewish community such identification is integral to Jewish belief and solidarity: to search out and make connections to others of the clan. Some even make millions of dollars doing it. Bruce Arbit and Jerry Benjamin of the A.B. Data company, for instance, run a computer company in suburban Milwaukee that employs 225 people; their business is solely to make lists of Jewish names and addresses to sell to Jewish groups looking for their own kind and pro-Israel politicians. (A.B. Data claims to have been responsible for raising $4 million for pro-Israel California senator Alan Cranston by canvassing the Jewish community for $20 checks.) [CHAFETS, MEMBERS, p. 53] Both Arbit and Benjamin are self-avowed Zionists and by the mid-1980s they claimed to hold the names and addresses of two-thirds of the Jewish households in America. How? By tabulating synagogue rosters and merely scanning Jewish-sounding names in phone books, looking for what they describe as the 80,000 common Jewish names. "Take the name Gordon," says Arbit, "It's a borderline name. Sheldon Gordon from Long Island is likely to be a Jew. Bubba Gordon from Tennessee, probably not. It's a matter of probability and common sense." [CHAFETS, MEMBERS, p. 51] Since only about half of all Jews still sport their original Jewish last names in America, it takes some creative detective work to track down the others. "We look [also] for Yiddish or Hebrew first names," notes Arbit. "It's interesting that Jewish yuppies like Hebrew names for their children." [CHAFETS, MEMBERS, p. 51] when this "program" is used to analyze key figures at three of the top media companies in the United States, the number of Jews among top executives, directors and management totals eight out of 88, or about 9%. Though this is higher than the roughly 3% of Americans who are Jewish, it is not such a disproportion as to indicate Jewish "control" of the media. Firstly, the web site hoozajew.org has been successfully censored
by the Anti-Defamation League. The web site is down. How can anyone
challenge your citations if the data is gone? How convenient of you to
discuss hoozajew.org, and make assertions about it, when no one
can resource the original site. If and when hoozajew comes back
online, I'll examine their data, and your claims about it, and add our
commentary here. Thirdly, as noted earlier, up to half of American Jews have disguised their Jewish surnames since moving to America. Take Sumner Redstone, chairman on the powerful Viacom media conglommerate. Is that his real name? No. He was born Murray Rothstein. Peter Bart, former bigshot at Paramount Studios, is today the editor of Variety magazine. What ethnicity is "Bart?" "Peter" is a Christian name right out of the New Testament. But Mr. Bart is Jewish. Ever hear of Robert Maxwell (born Ludwig Hoch), the Jewish British media baron who was such an activist for Israel? How about "Tim Wise?" Has that evolved from Weiss? This is not news to you, sir. Fourthly, here's the "antisemitic" perspective of that well-known
anti-Jewish hate journals, The Los Angeles Jewish Times and
Jewish Week . In
1999, that paper ran an article entitled "Yes, Virginia, Jews Do
Control the Media." "Four
of the largest five entertainment giants," it announced, "are
now run or owned by Jews. Murdoch's News
Corp (at number four) is the only gentile
holdout -- however Rupert is as pro-Israel as any Jew, probably more so."
[LOS ANGELES JEWISH TIMES, p. 14] (And
who is the Executive Vice President at the News Corporation? Gary
Ginsberg.) [WEINTRAUB, B., 3-4-01] "Time-Warner,
Disney, Viacom-CBS, News Corporation
and Universal rule the entertainment
world in a way that the old Hollywood studio chiefs only dreamed of,"
noted the Jewish Week in 1999, "And, after all the deals and
buyouts, four of the five are run by Jews. We're back to where we started,
bigger than ever." [GOLDBERG, J.J., 9-17-99, 12] This Jewish influence in the mass media is just for
starters. What’s more, the apparent disproportion is rooted more in statistical sampling error than anything else. For example: At AOL TimeWarner, there are 24 key executives, so even though only five are Jewish, five as a percentage of 24 is 21%, giving the impression of a huge disproportion of Jews. Again, until hoozajew.org comes back online, I can't see the data (as you present it) to discuss it. Even if the number of executives at AOL Time-Warner is "only" 21%, that's an over-representation of the Jewish population of nearly 1,000%. But let's discuss the history of Time-Warner a little: In
1989 the Time Inc. corporate media giant merged with Warner
Communications to become Time-Warner Communications, the largest
media organization at the time in the world. (Sigmund Warburg, an internationally
renowned Jewish banker who represented the London Daily Mirror Group,
then the largest newspaper company on earth, had years earlier tried to
buy Time, Inc., to no avail). [CLURMAN, p. 31] When the dust had settled
this time, Steve Ross, a Jewish entrepreneur who started out working for
a funeral home, sat astride the monstrous merger, the highest paid corporate
executive in America. His $39.1 million in 1990 as co-CEO, sole chairman
and chief decision-maker, was 1,363 per cent above the corporate average.

Steve Ross (whose father changed his surname from Rechnitz, and whose former Jewish stepfather, William Paley, for decades controlled CBS) was widely known as a man of dubious ethics and caused consternation among many journalists at Time that such a man was about to take them all over. He has been an "unindicted co-conspirator" in a 1979 United States Justice Department case investing underworld money laundering operation in suburban New York City. His "top lieutenant" at Warners took the fall and admitted guilt; likewise, Warners' assistant treasurer (who handled Ross's personal accounts) was also convicted of fraud and perjury. [CLURMAN, p. 29] In earlier years Ross had merged his funeral home operation with a parking lot company, Kinney National Service, which had its own "unsavory reputation." "There were rumors that Kinney was mobbed up [i.e., tainted by organized crime]," notes Fred Goodman, "Caesar Kinney, Kinney's executive vice president and original owner of Kinney's parking lot business, was the son of Emmanuel Kinney, a well-known New Jersey gambler." [GOODMAN, p. 137-138] (In 1969 Ross and the Kinney company bought Warner-Seven Arts from Elliott Hyman for $400 million. [Sam Kinney had been head of production; Benny Kalmensan was the number two man.] For his part, Hyman's earlier company was Associated Artists Productions, which had purchased the entire pre-1948 Warners film library in 1956. Associated Artists' chairman was Louis Chesler, who, notes Andrew Yule, was a man "with established ties to Mafia boss Meyer Lansky. Nor was this AA's only shady connection. Its vice-president, Morris 'Mac' Schwebel, would later be convicted of criminal activity." [YULE, p. 176]) Among
the central negotiators in the 1989 mega-merger between Warners and
Time was the Jewish Vice-President of Time, Inc., Jerry
Levin, "chief tactician for Time's merger with Warner," and
Ed Aboodi, an Israeli-born "financial consultant" for Warners.
Aboodi's reputation, says Clurman is that of a "shadowy mystery man
... [He] was an invisible mystery man to the world outside Warners until
the Time-Warner deal." Investigative reporter Richard Clurman
found no listing in any telephone directory for his Alpine Capital Company,
which is housed in the Time-Warner building. "Aboodi says
he has no telephone listing for Alpine because 'people know me and they
know how to find me. I've never thought about it." [CLURMAN, p. 165]
"Levin and Aboodi," says Clurman, "a Delphic-like oracle
and a Talmudic-like exegetist, [are] quite a combination for an intricate
modern business deal. Levin even spoke of the 'thaumaturgic (i.e., mystical)
significance' of some of their meetings." [CLURMAN, p. 166]
"While his peers have been unabashedly striving to scale the
corporate ladder to attain the personal perquisite of power and wealth,"
notes Connie Bruck, "Levin has long maintained that he has been compelled
by something far less mundane, almost mystical: a sense of obligation
to bring to fruition the 'manifest destiny' of Time, Inc. and,
now, Time Warner." [BRUCK, p. 55] Ultimately, the Chief Financial
Officer, the General Counsel, and Secretary of the Board for the new company
were all to come from Warners. [CLURMAN, p. 197-198] The new company committed
up to $150 million to a fund managed by Aboodi's Alpine Capital company,
as well as providing him his $8 million advisory fee.
After
the big merger, ruefully notes Clurman, for twenty years a journalist
and executive at Time, Inc., "in a bicoastal, cross-cultural
anointing, Time's house organ [had a column on new executive titles] under
the heading 'Honorable Menschen"
[a Yiddish pun]. Within the same two weeks, Nick Nicholas [the
co-chairman of Time-Warner, eventually dumped from that position], was
given a American-Jewish Committee Human Relations Award in Los Angeles
and Steve Ross was named Man of the Year by the Entertainment Division
of the UJA [United Jewish Appeal] in New York." [CLURMAN, p. 314]
(Steve Ross was "one of the role models" for Oskar Schindler
in Stephen Spielberg's film Schindler's List. "To prepare
[actor Liam Neeson] for the part, the director reportedly showed pictures
of Ross ... a wheeler-dealer of legendary proficiency." [KELLMAN,
p. 10] Schindler was also likened to another Jewish media mogul, Michael
Ovitz, "on top of the mountain pulling strings in every fiefdom down
below." [KELLMAN, p. 10]
When
Steve Ross subsequently died of cancer, Gerald Levin replaced him as head
of Time-Warner after a struggle for power, successfully firing presumed
heir, Nick Nicholas. (Levin's son, Lee, is studying to be a rabbi at the
Jewish Theological Seminary. [BOXER, T., 5-26-01] Soon Norman Pearlstine,
formerly the head of the Wall Street Journal and Jewish, was installed
as editor of Time magazine.
Likewise Gannett, where only three of 34 board members or top management are Jewish — according to the Web site — but where this represents a seemingly disproportionate 9% of the total. Because of low sample sizes, virtually any Jewish representation will appear disproportionate in a statistical sense. Since you use hoozajew.org as your source for discussion, again, I'm not able to comment about this until hoozajew.org comes back online. I'd like also to take a look at the media conglommerates you choose not to highlight. Meanwhile, one wonders, say, is there a Palestinian (or even Muslim or Arab) representation on the Gannett board of 9% -- a 300% overrepresentation of their general population numbers, in conjunction with higher percentages of Palestinians on boards throughout the mass media world? Of course, even if there are many Jews in a given industry, this can only be problematic for one of two reasons: first, if one already believes Jews are inherently given to abusing power; or secondly, if Jews obtained their positions by way of injustice, having received unfair privileges relative to non-Jews. Mr. Wise. While our entire web site addresses your dissimulation here, for brevity's sake I direct you to the following extraordinarily frank article by Adam Bellow, son of Jewish novelist Saul Bellow. The article is about the widespread historical expression of Jewish nepotism, and it was published in the Jewish ethnic journal, The Forward. You won't like Bellow's honesty: The
Jewish Path to Success, WISE: To accept the first of these is to engage in the ultimate circular logic: We know the Jews are bad because they “control the media,” and they control the media because they are bad. Whichever ethnic group dominates the mass media, it would be safe to assume that there would be an intrinsic bias, WHOEVER the group is in power -- whether the Saudis, the French, the Senegalese, or the JEWS. This is not too difficult to grasp, unless you try really hard to miss the obvious. Two of the pillars of modern American Jewry are: Israel and the "Holocaust." If Jews dominated too much of popular culture, we could expect those standard Jewish concerns of collective identity to come up quite a lot. They DO. It does not matter whether Jews who dominate the mass media are "bad."
Those that dominate mass society steer culture to their liking, to their
understanding. In a democracy, and in a "multicultural" one,
this is patently unjust. Jews have been in the vanguard in overthrowing
the "WASP" establishment, as you know. Your emphasis upon only
"white racism" (and not the Jewish version of bigotry) is a
good example of this. As regards the second possibility, while it is true that Jews in the U.S. have benefited from having mostly "white" skin, and thus, have been able to move ahead of persons of color in many industries thanks to white privilege, there is no evidence that Jews obtained positions in media or elsewhere because of state intervention on their behalf as Jews, over and above the opportunities provided for non-Jews. See Bellow's article above. And read this web site. Looking at claims of Jewish media domination, bigots imply that Jews have evil intentions to manipulate information for the sake of "Jewish" interests. Again, for brevity's sake, Israel Asper's CanWest media conglommerate exemplifies -- and points the direction for studying -- the problem. A list of Asper ethnocentric political outrages may be read within the context of another of our exchanges with a Jewish author, Michael Neuman. Asper's not alone in all this. Far from it. He's just the most callously obvious. I think the Jewish chief of CBS, Leslie Moonves (also a relative of Israel's first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion), ought to have raised eyebrows when his TV company hosted, in 1998, Israel's 50th anniversary celebration -- a media propaganda coup. ICM (one of the major Hollywood "agent" groups) chairman Marvin Josephson and Merv Adelson (the former CEO and chairman of movie group Lorimar) co-chaired the "jubilee committee" that ran the "Hollywood extravaganza" program on CBS. "Both men," noted the Jewish Journal of Los Angeles, "were appointed to serve as international co-chairmen of the 50th celebration at the behest of Israel's prime minister , Benyamin Netanyahu." Josephson has even served as treasurer for a pro-Israel lobbying group, the National Political Action Committee). These are just examples of the problem. These guys' biases are transparent. But, as you know, it is not always so. The norm is to hide such allegiance. Yet, there are many far-from-sinister reasons for the significant Jewish media presence. Most importantly, media outlets (as with financial institutions) have always been concentrated in urban areas, and especially New York City. New York and Los Angeles are the roots of the American mass media. And they are the major geographical congregations of Jewry. So? Jews gravitated to these places, in largely ethnocentric communities, and built their media monopolies. Mainly via Jewish "networking." As you know. Likewise, Jews in America have mostly been an urban people, with a large share of the Jewish community residing in New York. As such, the proper way to evaluate the extent of Jewish "overrepresentation" is to compare the Jewish level of representation with the Jewish share of the population in places like New York -- not to compare the percentage of Jews in a given company or industry with the overall Jewish population generally. Jewish author Harry Golden claimed that by the 1970s Jews owned about 80% of New York businesses. It doesn't matter if ALL of New York City is Jewish. It is the media and economic hub of the America, and therefore the world. It is a perfectly legitimate endeavor to investigate what ethnic group runs American culture. Jews have ALWAYS attacked the "WASP power structure." Who, today, are the "taste-makers" of culture? Who determines what's news? Jewish immigrants could have spread throughout America, like many others. But they didn't. They clustered, en masse. And still cluster. According to the American Jewish Committee, there are 1.45 million Jews in New York City. According to the Census Bureau, there are roughly 8 million people living in New York City overall. Thus, Jews would comprise approximately 18% of the population of New York — a percentage about six times greater than the national average. (Other estimates place the Jewish share of the New York population at around 10% — still more than three times the national average.) As such, the "overrepresentation" of Jews in various industries or companies turns out to be no overrepresentation at all, and occasionally an underrepresentation. As you know, statistics may be woven to illustrate a variety of illusions.
Jews are not "underrepresented" in the mass media. Please. If
all the Saudis in the world moved to New York City, and they dominated
American media and beyond, you'd be claiming it's no big deal because
their geographical numbers justified it? Please. Get real. I think we
need some Norwiegans to move to Tel Aviv and take over the Israeli media.
It shouldn't be a problem for you, the noble "anti-racist."
Except that, as you know, only Jews are allowed to move to Israel, bless
its black heart. What about tobacco? Someone say tobacco? Bearing in mind that "Cullman" isn't
a recognizable Jewish surname ... From this chapter: Jewish historian Cecil Roth notes the first man ever documented to
have smoked tobacco was Jewish: Mestre Bernal, a doctor in the Christopher
Columbus expedition to the New World. Roth further notes early Jewish
entrepreneurial efforts in the recreational habit of smoking tobacco:
As for the banking and financial industries, even based on the analysis of "Jewish names" by the website (which, keep in mind is one of the more "sophisticated" chroniclers of so-called Jewish power), fewer than 6% of the directors and officers of seven of the largest banks or brokerage firms in the country are Jewish. In real numbers, that's 15 of 255 directors. At Morgan Stanley, 9% of directors and officers are identified by the Web site as Jewish, which the Web site describes as a “very important over-representation” of Jews. The real numbers? Two of 23 officers. The situation is similar at Citibank: five of 54 officers. At the New York Stock Exchange, it's four of 32 officers, hardly enough to indicate Jewish domination of the NYSE. It's common knowledge that Jews are plentiful especially in the investment banking realm. This has been immortalized by Jewish investment swindlers like Michael Milken. (Again, hoozajew.org is down. I need to see its data, and not just take your word and selective contextualiations.) Of course, in keeping with the logic of anti-Jewish bigots, perhaps one should ask the following: If media or financial wrongdoing is Jewish inspired, since Jews are prominent in media and finance, should the depredations of white Christian-dominated industries (like the tobacco or automobile industries) be viewed as examples of white Christian malfeasance? Tobacco? See above. But the tobacco and automobile industries don't control culture, in any meaningful sense. The mass media system does "control" culture and disseminate values (especially in the wake of the corrosion of organized religion), and there has been plenty of scholarly investigation into this. But looking at the Jewish angle of it all is a terrible taboo. It is a punishable offense by the self-appointed guardians of "correct think" that dominate the mass media and the formation of public opinion. After all, 400,000 people per year die because of smoking-related illnesses, and tobacco companies withheld information on the cancerous properties of their products. Is their race, religion or ethnic culture relevant to their misdeeds? Sir. "Relevant?" Let me put it to you this way. Prior to recent history, Jews dominated the alcohol trade in central and Eastern Europe. Yet Jews themselves collectively refrained from alcohol, except for ritual wine use. Now, is there any moral issue for you in the fact that Jews were activists in poisoning non-Jewish populations with alcohol, while they themselves abstained? Mr. Wise. The fact that the alcohol industry was mostly Jewish and non-Jews were largely the consumers was incredibly "relevant" -- morally, socially, economically, and politically. Although your position will likely be that the non-Jew "chose" to be poisoned by alcohol, one cannot overlook the special historical role of Jewry OUTSIDE the European "Lord-chattel" feudal society, as exploiter and oppressor of the peasant masses. In today's tobacco industry, Jews are big-time players, as I have noted. That industry is not as homogenous as you'd like. If not, why is it suddenly relevant when the executives in question are Jewish? The problem, as you know, is the Jewish tribal allegiance that has informed Jewish identity throughout history, and its antithetical position to the host society -- across history and geography. Modern Israel embodies international Jewish tribalism quite neatly, don't you think? That nothing I have said here will matter to those whose vitriol regularly fills my inbox is testimony to nothing so much as their deep psychological need to project their own authoritarian tendencies onto others. If your main game is psychoanalyzing those who legitimately protest Jewish-inspired injustice, let's turn the tables on you with this nice quote: "[Jewish psychologist Jules] Nydes argues that such individuals [representing the "paranoid masochistic character"] tend to see themselves and groups within which they identify as victims who are being persecuted. This sense of persecution derives partly from unconscious feelings of guilt. The paranoid masochistic person engages in aggression against others because he or she expects to be attacked. His aggression, which is accompanied by feelings of self-righteousness, is rarely satisfying. Indeed, he can often achieve gratification only when he is punished, and the punishment is interpreted as confirming his preconceived sense of persecution ... The typology is suggestive. [Jewish psychoanalyst] Theodore Reik, who was Nyde's teacher, suggested that a 'paranoid masochistic' personality structure is modal among Jews." -- [Stanley Rothman and S. Robert Lichter, Jewish authors, 1982, p. 133] To find Jewish scapegoats for whatever miserable failures their lives have turned out to be — this is the ideological holy grail of the anti-Jewish bigot. Mr. Wise, do you know where the term "scapegoat" came from? Look it up. It's an old Jewish Biblical concept: Israelites would symbolically load a goat with their "sins" and drive it out into the desert to die. Neat trick. If you're interested in understanding the term "scapegoat" and how it's used, it's best to to go to the source. Don't you think? In modern society, the "antisemite" is Jewry's scapegoat for every- and anything. You've probably heard this joke in Jewish circles?: "Two

And of course it will lead them to view this column as merely more proof that a Jewish conspiracy exists, and that I am part of it: my denials only prove my guilt, in the warped worldview of persons so hate-besotted. So be it, and in which case I have only one request. Before anyone writes me with more "proof," do me a favor: Namely, gather up the number and address of the national office of the Jewish conspiracy and send it my way. about the Southern Poverty Law Center, famed fighter for the impoverished
and African-American rights, especially in the South? It is based in Montgomery,
Alabama, and in 1996 the local Montgomery Advertiser printed an
embarrassing expose about the Center. The salary, noted the paper, for
SPLC president and CEO (as well as SPLC co-founder) Joseph Levin was
$137,798 a year. Not bad for a fighter on behalf of those mired in poverty.
The Center's Legal Director, Richard Cohen, made $151,420. But
that's not all. The Advertiser further noted that

The next year, an editorial writer, Rose
Sanders, expressed outrage in the same newspaper that the SPLC publicly
condemned Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam (a hero in large parts
of the Black community) as a racist. She pointed out the hypocrisy of
the charge, noting that:
