COMMUNITY ALERT! Mr. Santomauro first came to our attention when he began marketing (exclusively via his email lists) a CD he calls "The Jewish Ruling Class in America." Here's his advertisement for the CD, which was posted at Original Dissent by one of Santomauro's email recipients (not by Santomauro). This CD was stolen from Jewish Tribal Review. A few months ago
we posted a pdf version of When Victims Rule. A Critique of Jewish
Pre-eminence in America for a few days before overwhelming bandwidth
use in its download forced us to take it down. At this web site, wherein the book in question was created and posted in September 2001, When Victims Rule has always been available for free. Even as a pdf download, there was no charge. When we protested to Santomauro, his only email reply was that he'd be willing to share the profits. And, suddenly, although we had never requested to get on his mailing list, we were suddenly cut off from it. Further protests elicited his declaration that the ad came down from his web site. Santomauro was lying: there NEVER WAS an ad for WVR at his web site, only in his mass emailing. What is going on here? At first we presumed that Santomauro was just an incredibly immoral sleaze. A self-aggrandizing hustler. A charlatan. How big a scamster? Here's a link to his nauseatingly hypocritical "Creed of Peace," a "gift," he says, to his readers. But the more we began to examine his methods, and the more we heard from others about him, our suspicions began to widen. We now believe that Santomauro is some kind of spy of the anti-Judeocentrism community. And his web site is fraudulent, part of a project to ensnare the anti-Zionist community to some kind of documentation. Let's review what is publicly known about him. Santomauro, via his carefully compiled list of email addresses, even solicited commentary in his defense against the forthcoming NYT article. In other words, this man labored intensely towards publicizing his upcoming NYT piece and drawing supporters in to him. 2) Santomauro's web site (Reporters Notebook) -- after a year or so of existence -- has ten (10!) articles posted. That's it. There is nothing else, except an unmoderated "message board with headlines like "Fuck the Jews," and so forth. The board is suitably alienating to anyone who would come looking for reasoned discourse about Jewish influence/hegemony in American culture. In fact, it's a useful forum to enhance stereotypes about critics of Judeocentrism and repel readers from moral and intellectual investigation of Jewish influence and power in modern society. ON THE OTHER HAND, Santomauro runs an email mass-mailing in which he recycles stolen material (like ours, text that is stripped of attribution and run under his logo as if he is responsible for it) to the committed anti-Zionist crowd. I, and others I have heard from, did not request to get on his mailing list. He seems to search out people in the anti-Zionist world, put them on his list, and create illusions about his credibility as a critic of Jewry. YET, none of this critical material (circulated ONLY via his selected email recipients) appears on his web site where a broader audience could be attracted. Santomauro functions almost entirely WITHIN the anti-Judeocentrism community, except for the MINIMAL fig leaf towards wide scale credibility -- the website ReportersNotebook. 3) Santomauro's basic method of operation is to strip other peoples' material of attribution, plant his own logo on it as if he is responsible for the research's creation, and then circulate it ONLY, in-house, within the anti-Zionist community in an apparent search for trust and credibility. He doesn't post such material at his web site, where it could reach a wider audience. 4) One email commentator to us noted the following: Another said this: 5) At an anti-Judeocentrism discussion group, Santomaruo (who has wormed his way into anti-Zionist credility) posted an article he had written which began like this: "Who's Kidding Whom? What bullshit is this? Here's a man who has striven for (a bogus) credibility
in our community, and opens his article (in, symbolically, our collective
name) which he will flood throughout the Internet with his proclaimed
satisfaction in the murder of Americans. What point can this be aimed
towards, except to alienate the reader (in the first paragraph!) from
our just complaints? Spread the word of caution about him. Santomauro defends himself, not to us who know the facts, but to others on the Internet. |
