Yet the Arabs living in those areas never had a sovereign state, and were under Jordanian and Egyptian rule before 1967. There are many groups who lived in today's contested area, including the Nabateans. The "Land of Israel" was land before Israelites started massacring the Canaanites to lay claim on it.
